Eleutherodactylus (Euhyas) michaelschmidi Díaz, Cádiz, and Navarro, 2007, Zootaxa, 1435: 52. Holotype: MNHNCU 975, by original designation. Type locality: "La Ceiba (20° 11´ 07 N, 76° 20´ 14 W), Municipality of Tercer Frente, Santiago de Cuba province, 408 m above the sea level", Cuba.

Distribution

Karstic valleys and premontane areas on the northern slope of the Sierra Maestra, Santiago de Cuba Province, Cuba, 160-408 m elevation.

Comment

Most closely related to Eleutherodactylus bresslerae according to the original publication. In the Eleutherodactylus (Euhyas) ricordii species series, Eleutherodactylus ricordii species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 82-83. Díaz and Cadíz, 2008, Guía Taxon. Anf. Cuba, 4: 94-95, provided a brief account, illustration, and map.
