Fauna Curaçao and other Caribb. Is., 24: 56, or Crombie, 1977, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 90: 194-204. Sole member of the Eleutherodactylus karlschmidti group, according to Joglar, 1983, Caribb. J. Sci., 19: 37. In the Eleutherodactylus auriculatus section, Eleutherodactylus martinicensis series, unassigned to species group, according to Hedges, 1989, in Woods (ed.), Biogeograph. W. Indies: 327. In Eleutherodactylus (Euhyas), unassigned to species group by Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 226. Reported as extinct by Joglar and Burrowes, 1996, in Powell and Henderson (eds.), Contr. W. Indian Herpetol.: 371-380.
