Eleutherodactylus jasperi Drewry and Jones, 1976, J. Herpetol., 10: 161. Holotype: FMNH 196846, by original designation. Type locality: "Sierra de Cayey, 6 km SE Cayey, Puerto Rico".

Puerto Rico; known only from the Sierra de Cayey, 200-785 m elevation.

In the Eleutherodactylus auriculatus group, according to the original publication. In the Eleutherodactylus auriculatus section, Eleutherodactylus martinicensis series, unassigned to species group, according to Hedges, 1989, in Woods (ed.), Biogeograph. W. Indies: 327. In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) martinicensis series, Eleutherodactylus martinicensis group of Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 226. Reported as extinct by Joglar and Burrowes, 1996, in Powell and Henderson (eds.), Contr. W. Indian Herpetol.: 371-380. In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) martinicensis species series, Eleutherodactylus antillensis species group, Eleutherodactylus gryllus species subgroup of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 58.
