Eleutherodactylus bartonsmithi Schwartz, 1960, Sci. Publ. Reading Public Mus. Art Gallery, 11: 10. Holotype: AMNH 63409, by original designation. Type locality: "mouth of Río Yumurí, east side, Oriente [now Guantánamo] Province, Cuba".

Distribution

Extreme southeastern Cuba; known from the type locality (Guantánamo Province) and Cupeyal, Holguin Province.

In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) martinicensis series, Eleutherodactylus martinicensis group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 220. In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) auriculatus species series, Eleutherodactylus auriculatus group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 55.
