Eleutherodactylus ruthae aporostegus Schwartz, 1965, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 132: 487. Holotype: MCZ 43186, by original designation. Type locality: "Camp Perrin, Dépt. du Sud, Haiti".

Eleutherodactylus (Pelorius) aporostegus — Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 220 (unintended combination). Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 86.

English Names

None noted.

Distribution

Tiburon Peninsula in Haiti, as far as as Jacmel in the south and Petionville in the north, 0-2970 ft elevation.

Comment

Powell, 1993, Herpetol. Rev., 24: 135-137, suggested that Eleutherodactylus ruthae aporostegus warranted binominal status. In the Eleutherodactylus (Pelorius) ruthae species series of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 86, who also formalized recognition as a species.
