Comment

Khan, 1976, Biologia, Lahore, 22: 208, following Mertens, 1969, Stuttgart. Beit. Naturkd., 197: 15, noted that Tomopterna strachani was probably a synonym of Tomopterna breviceps. This synonymy was accepted by Dubois, 1983, Alytes, 2: 165, but subsequently Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 57, without comment, regarded Tomopterna strachani as either incertae sedis within Sphaerotheca or a synonym of another species. See account by Boulenger, 1920, Rec. Indian Mus., 20: 106.
