English Names

Taihangshan Swelled-vented Frog (Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 384).

Distribution

High-gradient streams in the Qinling, Funiu and the Zhongtia, and southern Taihang mountains in the provinces of Gansu, Shaanxi, and Henan, China.

Comment

Most similar to Nanorana quadranus (as Paa) according to the original publication. See Chen and Jiang, 2004, Acta Zootaxon. Sinica, 29: 595-599, for supplementary description. Wang, Jiang, Xie, Chen, Dubois, Liang, and Wagner, 2009, Zool. Sci., Tokyo, 26: 500-509, reported on aspects of phylogenetic relationships and range of this species. See comment under Nanorana for comments on the status of Feirana. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 3: 1437-1442, provided an accounts (as Feirana taihangnica), figures, and map.
