Distribution
Known only from the type locality (Mokokchung) in Nagaland, northeastern India.
Comment
See discussion of this nominal species by Dubois, 2002 "2001", Amphibia-Reptilia, 22: 499-506, who provisional placed this nominal taxon in the Paa maculosa group. Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 204, provided a brief account (as Scutiger mokokchungensis). Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 630, implied that this taxon may be found to be a synonym of Nanorana annandalii, although the type is substantially larger than the maximum size of Nanorana annandalii and with a different skin texture (S. Mahony, personal commun. 2 Jan. 2011. Mathew and Sen, 2010, Pict. Guide Amph. NE India: 44-45, provided a brief characterization and photographs.
