Arthroleptis carquejai Ferreira, 1906, J. Sci. Math. Phys. Nat., Lisboa, Ser. 2, 7: 165. Holotype: MUP, according to R. Laurent in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 15. Type locality: "Cambondo", Angola.

English Names

Cambondo Screeching Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 37).

Carqueja's Squeaker (Channing, 2001, Amph. Cent. S. Afr.: 42).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Cambondo, Angola).

Comment

See brief account by Channing, 2001, Amph. Cent. S. Afr.: 42, who noted that the taxon is so poorly known that it may not be distinct from one of the other species in the area once types have been examined. Frétey, 2008, Alytes, 25: 99-172, summarized the literature.
