Comment

Similar to Limnonectes kuhlii according to the original publication. Formerly confused with Limnonectes kuhlii (e.g., Pope, 1931, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 61: 495; Pope and Boring, 1940, Peking Nat. Hist. Bull., 15: 13-86). Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 3: 1340-1345, provided an account (including the Taiwan population of Limnonectes "kuhlii" in the range), figures, and map. See comment under Limnonectes kuhlii for additional relevant literature. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 358-359, provided a brief account for China including photographs of specimens and habitat. Jang-Liaw and Chou, 2011, Zool. Sci., Tokyo, 28: 254-263, reported on molecular phylogeography.
