Comment

Menzies, 1987, Aust. J. Zool., 35: 388-389, and Menzies, 1992, Sci. New Guinea, 18: 119, reported this species from Papua New Guinea, in error, according to J. Menzies, in litt. to Allen Allison 9 Feb 2006. See account by Boulenger, 1920, Rec. Indian Mus., 20: 16, who resurrected this species from the synonymy of Hoplobatrachus tigerinus. Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 60, considered this species to be a member of his Limnonectes (Hoplobatrachus) tigerinus group, but subsequently ( Dubois, 1992, Bull. Mens. Soc. Linn. Lyon, 61: 315) moved it into Fejervarya.
