Colostethus yustizi La Marca, 1989, Amphibia-Reptilia, 10: 176. Holotype: CVULA IV-2842, by original designation. Type locality: "14 km SSE Sanare, on stream along road Sanare-Parque Nacional Yacambú, 1475 m, (ca. 9° 43′ N; 69° 39′ W), Distrito Jiménez, Estado Lara, Venezuela".

Distribution
Known only from the vicinity of the type locality (14 km south-southeast of Sanare) in Yacambú and Terepaima National Parks, Lara, Venezuela, 1200-1800 m elevation.
