Colostethus pumilus Rivero, 1991, Caribb. J. Sci., 27: 10. Holotype: USNM 282816, by original designation. Type locality: "3 km W. (by road) of San Vicente, slightly south of W. of Limón, and ca. 35 km E. (by road) of Gualaceo, 9800 ft (2987 m), Provincia Azuay", Ecuador.

Distribution
Known only from the type locality in the Cordillera Oriental in southern Ecuador.
