Colostethus parcus Rivero, 1991, Caribb. J. Sci., 27: 8. Holotype: USNM 282819, by original designation. Type locality: "Limón and Gualaceo, on trail between Agua Rica and San Juan Bosco, 6800 ft (1981 m), Provincia Zamora-Santiago", Ecuador.

English Names

Gualaceo Rocket Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 49).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Limón and Gualaceo, on trail between Agua Rica and San Juan Bosco, 1981 m elevation, Provincia Zamora-Santiago, Ecuador).

Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Colostethus exasperatus Duellman and Lynch, 1988, by Morales, 2005, Herpetozoa, 18: 94-95 (who did not detail the revised ranges of either component species), where it had been placed by Coloma, 1995, Misc. Publ. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 87: 29.
