Dasypops Miranda-Ribeiro, 1924, Bol. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 1: 255. Type species: Dasypops schirchi Miranda-Ribeiro, 1924, by monotypy.

Comment

Probably derived from Hypopachus according to Carvalho, 1954, Occas. Pap. Mus. Zool. Univ. Michigan, 555: 16. Pyron and Wiens, 2011, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 61: 543-583, in their study of Genbank sequences, placed Dasypops, within their set of exemplars, as the sister of a group composed of Elachistocleis, Dermatonotus, Hamptophryne, Hypopachus, and Gastrophryne.
