Comment

Howlader, 2011, Bangladesh Wildl. Bull., 5: 1-7, noted that previous authors found two groups of nominal Fejervarya, not always more closely related to each other than to Sphaerotheca. By recognizing this genus the sought to resolve this problem. See further discussion under the Fejervarya account. Borthakur, Kalita, Hussain, and Sengupta, 2007, Zoos' Print J., 22: 2639-2643, compared the species of Assam, northwest India (as Fejervarya nepalensis, Fejervarya pierrei, Fejervarya syhadrensis, and Fejervarya teraiensis). Sri Lanka: Bopage, Wewalwala, Krvavac, Jovanovic, Safarek, and Pushpamal, 2011, Salamandra, 47: 173-177, reported a population as Fejervarya limnocharis in lowland forest in the Kanneliya Forest of southwestern Sri Lanka, although this is likely referrable to another taxon.
