Minervarya Dubois, Ohler, and Biju, 2001, Alytes, 19: 58. Type species: Minervarya sahyadris Dubois, Ohler, and Biju, by original designation.
None noted.
Southern Western Ghats in South India and West Bengal, India.
Kuramoto, Joshy, Kurabayashi, and Sumida, 2008 "2007", Curr. Herpetol., 26: 98-99, placed this taxon as a synonym of Fejervarya on the basis of their suggestion that generic recognition of Minervarya rendered Fejervarya paraphyletic. Ohler, Deuti, Grosjean, Paul, Ayyaswamy, Ahmed, and Dutta, 2009, Zootaxa, 2209: 43-56, argued that the taxon should be maintained until the evidence upon which this change was made was disclosed and/or a more complete sampling of Fejervarya had been accomplished. (See comment under Fejervarya record for more complete discussion of Fejervarya monophyly—DRF.)
