English Names

Finca Chiblac Salamanders (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 30).

Distribution

Known only from the immediate vicinity of the type locality in extreme northwestern Guatemala, on the eastern slopes of the Sierra de los Cuchumatanes.

Comment

Wiens, Parra-Olea, García-París, and Wake, 2007, Proc. R. Soc. London, Ser. B, Biol. Sci., 274: 918-928, placed Bradytriton as the sister taxon of Oedipina. In the tribe Bolitoglossini of Vieites, Román, Wake, and Wake, 2011, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 59: 633.
