Zach Baldwin
Welcome
I’m a second-year Ph.D. student in the new Comparative Biology program at the Richard Gilder Graduate School (RGGS) of the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH). I work in the Department of Ichthyology. My advisor is Dr. John Sparks.
Broadly speaking, my research interests include the taxonomy and systematics of fishes, deep-sea ecology, pelagic biogeography, conservation biology, and evolutionary biology. For my dissertation, I am investigating the role morphology plays in diversification, in three groups of fishes: ponyfish (family Leiognathidae), Malagasy cichlids (family Cichlidae, subfamily Etroplinae), and tubeshoulders (family Platytroctidae).
