Phylogeny of the Haplosporidia
The phylogeny depicted above, based on SSU rDNA and Actin nucleotide sequences (as yet unpublished) demonstrates that existing taxonomy is not reflective of historical relationships. All higher level analyses placed the supposed dinoflagellate Syndinium with the Haplosporidia. No analyses depict monophyly of Minchinia or Haplosporidium.
