Astrophysics Seminars

WHO CAN ATTEND: The seminars are intended for researchers in astronomy or the natural sciences, and for people with an extensive knowledge of advanced scientific and astronomical concepts (college graduate level).

WHEN: The Astrophysics Department of the American Museum of Natural History is holding several seminars each month, usually on Mondays. Please refer to the schedule below for the exact date and time of day.

WHERE: Unless posted otherwise, talks are held in the Perkin Reading Room, located on the 5th floor of the Rose Center for Earth and Space (which houses the Hayden Planetarium).

HOW TO GET THERE: A museum access card is required to get to the 5th floor of the Rose Center, where seminars are held. Visitors who wish to attend one seminar are invited to contact Beth Lebwhol (212-313-7441 blebwohl@amnh.org ) or any one of the research personnel   at least 24 hours before the scheduled talk.

MAILING LIST: Information about upcoming seminars are sent via e-mail 5-7 days before the scheduled date. If you are not currently receiving information about our seminars and would like to be on our mailing list, please send an e-mail to lepine@amnh.org.

Public Lectures:

The Department of Astrophysics also has connections to two public lecture series held by the Hayden Planetarium: "Frontiers In Astrophysics" and "Distinguished Authors In Astrophysics."
