Winter Accommodations NOW Available

 Naturalists  Scientists

As space permits – frequently in the spring and fall, occasionally in the summer – naturalist guests may stay at the Station and enjoy outstanding scenery, a multitude of wildlife, and great hiking trails.

Lodging

Accommodations are mostly rooms with 4 or 5 single beds, and bathroom with shower.  (If you reserve the room as a private room, you will be the only one(s) in that room.)  Lodging includes all meals, served in the station dining room.

Wildlife

Cave Creek Canyon is home to hundreds of species of birds, as well as numerous mammals and reptiles.

Hiking

The Coronado National Forest, which surrounds SWRS, is a hikers paradise.  Several trails are accessible directly from the station while others can be reached with a short drive.  Visitors who are lodging at the station can request a sack lunch
