Birding     Hiking

Cave Creek Canyon, the backdrop for the Station, affords the finest bird watching in North America.  As space permits – frequently in the spring and fall, occasionally in the summer – naturalist guests may stay at the Station and enjoy outstanding scenery, a multitude of wildlife, and great hiking trails.

Lodging

Accommodations are mostly rooms with 4 or 5 single beds, and bathroom with shower.  (If you reserve the room as a private room, you will be the only one(s) in that room.)  Lodging includes all meals, served in the station dining room.  For lodging details and fees, click here.

Wildlife

Cave Creek Canyon is home to hundreds of species of birds, as well as numerous mammals and reptiles.  For more information about birding, click here.

Hiking

Dozens of excellent hiking trails are within a few miles of SWRS.  In the near future, we hope to provide hiking maps for nearby trails.
