Notes for Hell Creek beds During a trip down Crooked Cr. with Prof. Osborn in Sept 1908 a distant unconformity was observed between the light colored bluish grey shales that mark the top of the marine beds and the massive yellow sandstones of the basal sandstone of lowest Laramie member. This unconformity was noted a few hundred yards above the Cook ranch on the easy fork of Crooked Cr. and also on the west fork of Crooked Cr. neat the Gus Colin place.
