Predatoroonops yautja       Get publication



            Male (PBI_OON_11845). Total length 1.92. CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace pale orange, without any pattern, squared in dorsal view, pars cephalica strongly elevated in lateral view, anteriorly narrowed to more than 0.75 times its maximum width, with rounded posterolateral corners, posterolateral edge without pits, posterior margin not bulging below posterior rim, anterolateral corners without extension or projections, posterolateral surface without spikes, surface of elevated portion of pars cephalica smooth, sides smooth, thorax without depressions, fovea absent, without radiating rows of pits; lateral margin straight, smooth, without denticles; plumose setae near posterior margin of pars thoracica absent; non-marginal pars cephalica setae absent; non-marginal pars thoracica setae absent; marginal setae absent. Clypeus margin unmodified, curved downwards in front view, vertical in lateral view, high, ALE separated from edge of carapace by their radius or more, median projection absent; setae present, dark, needle-like, with 6 to 8 setae in two rows. Chilum absent. Eyes six, well developed, all subequal, all eyes oval; posterior eye row recurved from both above and front; ALE separated by their radius to diameter, ALE-PLE touching, PME touching throughout most of their length, PLE-PME touching. Sternum wider than long, yellow, uniform, not fused to carapace, median concavity absent, without radial furrows between coxae I-II, II-III, III-IV, furrow smooth, radial furrow opposite coxae III absent, surface smooth, without pits, microsculpture absent, sickle-shaped structures absent, anterior margin unmodified, posterior margin not extending posteriorly of coxae IV, anterior corner unmodified, lateral margin without infra-coxal grooves, distance between coxae approximately equal, extensions of pre-coxal triangles present, lateral margins unmodified, without posterior hump; setae sparse, dark, needle-like, evenly scattered, originating from surface, without hair tufts. Mouthparts: Chelicerae, endites and labium yellow. Chelicerae straight, anterior face with hyaline grooves and distal complex projections, anterior face with long apophysis on the distal area, racket shape at tip; condilar projection absent.; without teeth on both promargin and retromargin; fangs without tooth-like projections, directed medially, shape normal, without prominent basal process, tip unmodified; setae dark, needle-like, evenly scattered, shaggy hair at fang base; paturon inner margin with brush, distal region unmodified, posterior surface unmodified, promargin unmodified, inner margin unmodified, laminate groove absent. Labium rectangular, not fused to sternum, anterior margin not indented at middle, same as sternum in sclerotization; without setae. Labrum elongated covered of need like setae. Endites distally excavated, serrula present in single row, posteromedian part unmodified, same as sternum in sclerotization, anteromedian part with retrolateral groove. ABDOMEN: ovoid, without long posterior extension, rounded posteriorly, inter-scutal membrane rows of small sclerotized platelets absent posteriorly; dorsum soft portions white, without color pattern. Book lung covers small, very narrow, without setae, anterolateral edge unmodified. Posterior spiracles not connected by groove. Pedicel tube short, unmodified, scuto-pedicel region unmodified, scutum not extending far dorsal of pedicel, plumose hairs absent, matted setae on anterior ventral abdomen in pedicel area absent, cuticular outgrowths near pedicel absent. Dorsal scutum absent. Epigastric scutum absent. Postepigastric scutum absent. Spinneret scutum absent. Dorsum setae absent. Epigastric area setae uniform, dark, needle-like. Postepigastric area setae absent. Spinneret scutum without fringe of setae. Dense patch of setae anterior to spinnerets absent. Colulus represented only by setae. LEGS: yellow, without color pattern; femur IV not thickened, same size as femora I-III, patella plus tibia I longer than carapace, tibia I unmodified, tibia I Emerit’s glands absent, tibia IV specialized hairs on ventral apex absent, tibia IV ventral scopula absent, metatarsi I and II meso-apical comb absent, metatarsi III and IV weak ventral scopula absent. Leg spination (only surfaces bearing spines listed, all spines longer than segment width): femora: I d1-0-1; v1-2-2; II d1-0-1; v0-2-2; III, IV d1-0-1; tibiae: III, IV d0-1-0; p1-1-0; v0-1-2; r1-1-0; metatarsi: III d0-1-0; v0-1-2; r1-1-0; IV d0-1-0; p1-1-0; v0-1-2; r1-1-0; (leg I: tibia v2-2-2-2-2 metatarsus v2-2-2-2, leg II: tibia v2-2-2-2-2 metatarsus v2-2-2-2. ). Tarsi I to IV superior claws tooth examined in detail; tarsal proclaws and retroclaws inner face striate; tarsus I superior claws with four teeth on lateral surface of proclaw, zero teeth on median surface of proclaw, four teeth on lateral surface of retroclaw, zero teeth on median surface of retroclaw; tarsus II superior claws with four teeth on lateral surface of proclaw, zero teeth on median surface of proclaw, four teeth on lateral surface of retroclaw, zero teeth on median surface of retroclaw; tarsus III superior claws with four teeth on lateral surface of proclaw, zero teeth on median surface of proclaw, four teeth on lateral surface of retroclaw; tarsus IV superior claws with four teeth on lateral surface of proclaw, zero teeth on median surface of proclaw, four teeth on lateral surface of retroclaw, zero teeth on median surface of retroclaw. Tarsi I to IV without inferior claw. Trichobothria examined with SEM; tibia: each with three; metatarsus: each with one; base longitudinally narrowed, aperture internal texture grate-like, hood covered by numerous low, closely spaced ridges. Tarsal organ with 3 sensilla visible. GENITALIA: Epigastric region with sperm pore not visible; furrow without omega-shaped insertions, without setae. Palp normal size, not strongly sclerotized, right and left palps symmetrical, proximal segments white; embolus light, prolateral excavation absent, formal embolus inconspicuous, presenting a large and circular spermatic opening between the bases of the hyaline apophysis.; trochanter normal size, unmodified; femur normal size, two or more times as long as trochanter, without posteriorly rounded lateral dilation, attaching to patella basally; patella shorter than femur, not enlarged, without prolateral row of ridges, setae unmodified; tibia as long as patella, trichobothria with 1 trichobothrium; cymbium yellow, ovoid in dorsal view, fused with bulb but with clearly defined seam between, not extending beyond distal tip of bulb, plumose setae absent, without stout setae, without distal patch of setae; bulb white, shorter than cymbium, stout, spherical, distal part with insertion area of distal elements presenting an enlarged basis to accommodate a large subdistal laminar hyaline apophysis and a short and slender hyaline apophysis..

            Female (PBI_OON_11848). Total length 2.32. As in male except as noted. CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace anteriorly narrowed to 0.49 times its maximum width or less. Mouthparts: Chelicerae anterior face unmodified. Labium anterior margin indented at middle; with 3-5 setae on anterior margin, subdistal portion with unmodified setae. Labrum elongated covered of need like setae. Endites distally not excavated, anteromedian tip unmodified. Female palp claws absent; spines absent; tarsus unmodified, patella without prolateral row of ridges. LEGS: Leg spination (only surfaces bearing spines listed, all spines longer than segment width): femora: I d1-0-0; v1-2-2; II d1-0-0; v0-2-2; III d0-1-1; IV d1-0-1; tibiae: III d0-1-0; p1-1-0; v0-1-1; r1-1-0; IV d0-1-0; p1-1-0; v0-1-2; r1-1-0; metatarsi: III d0-1-0; v0-1-2; r0-0-1; IV d0-1-0; p0-1-1; v0-1-2; r0-1-1; (leg I: tibia v2-2-2-2-2 metatarsus v2-2-2-2, leg II: tibia v2-2-2-2-2 metatarsus v2-2-2-2. ). Tarsi I to IV superior claws tooth examined in detail. Trichobothria examined with SEM. GENITALIA: Shape: with receptaculum formed by two incased parts, like the “hand in the pocket”, presenting a mediam protrusion in some species; narrow and long median plate with inconspicuous, short or long subdistal extension, sometimes sinuous..
