Professional Experience:
Spider systemist specialising in trapdoor, funnelweb & tarantula spiders (Mygalomorphae), and ground hunting araneomorph spiders (excluding Lycosidae and Ganphosoidea). His research has been supported by an ARC grant in 1987 (which specifically resulted in the publication of over 15 papers) and has received ABRS funding since 1996. He has provided identifications for various ecological surveys (e.g. World Heritage Area, Tasmania 1987; Wet Tropics bid for World Heritage status) and in the past 3 years he has co-supervised 2 PhD students (one of which worked on Argyrodes) and one Honours student.
