About Institution:
A multidiciplinary institution devoted to research on tropical and mainly Central Africa with emphasis on Zoology, Geology, Xylology, Ethnology and History.
Exhibitions entirely devoted to different aspects of the environment and culture of the African continent.

PBI Role:
Rudy Jocqué (member of the steering comittee) and Wouter Fannes (full time PhD student) will made the many Oonopidae samples of the RMCA collections available for study. Carry out research on selected taxa.
Organize collecting trips to particular undercollected areas in Africa. |
Collections:
Very large zoological collections with specialisation in Ichthyology, different insect groups, molluscs, arachnids (some 85000 samples for the latter). Most of the invertebrate non-insect collections including all arachnids are databased.
Some 1500 samples of Oonopidae from appr. 35 African countries. Many types. |
