(Extension: 7622, E-mail: jdubois@amnh.org)
Professional history:
Jacques obtained his MSc in Biodiversity and Evolution (2000) and his PhD in Entomology (2005) from the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle of Paris (France). After a first postdoc in Texas A&M with Robert Wharton (2006), he joined the AMNH in December 2006 to work on Ichneumonidae taxonomy and evolution with James Carpenter and Ward Wheeler. Jacques’s research interest focus on systematics and evolution of Hymenoptera, evolution of host-parasite and plant-insect relationships, and the tests of evolutionary scenarios.
Current Projects :
Total evidence phylogeny of Pimpliformes (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae), in collaboration with James Carpenter and Ward Wheeler (AMNH).
Past and ongoing projects:
- Morphological revision of the tribe Pionini (Ichneumonidae, Ctenoplematinae), in collaboration with Robert Wharton (Texas A&M).
- Molecular phylogeny of Ctenopelmatinae (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae), in collaboration with Robert Wharton (Texas A&M), Debra Murray (UFS) and Matt Yoder (OSU).
- Phylogeny and evolution of spider parasitoids within Pimplinae (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae), in collaboration with Ian Gauld (NHM, London).
- Revision of Hymenoepimecis and Acrotaphus, two genera of Neotropical spider parasitoids (Ichneumonidae, Pimplinae), in collaboration with Ian Gauld (NHM, London).
- Preliminary molecular phylogeny of Pimplinae (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae), in collaboration with Claire Villemant (MNHN, Paris).
