Dr Susanne Schulmeister does research on phylogenetic systematics of Hymenoptera. One project deals with the phylogeny of the entire order, others with the phylogeny of Symphyta, Tenthredinoidea, Cimbicidae, and Aculeata, respectively. She uses DNA data as well as morphological characters and has specialized on the male reproductive organs.
