Collection/Research Support Position for Bee Collection
American Museum of Natural History
The museum is looking for a person with at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in entomology or a related field in biology (1) to assist in curating and databasing the museum’s worldwide bee collection of approximately 500,000 specimens, and (2) to participate in research activities with respect to the systematics, evolutionary relationships, and biology of bees. In addition to working with specimens, the person will be responsible for processing loans of specimens to members of the scientific community, keeping track of, and filling out, loan forms, and learning regulations regarding shipping of specimens.
The person will work under the direction of the Curator of bees and must be able to interact and work effectively with other persons who are involved with other aspects of the bee collection.
This is a fulltime position supported by special funds. Salary $30,000 per annum plus benefits.
