Lake Tanganyika Expedition
In February Bob Schelly, Roger Bills
(South African Institute of Aquatic Biology), Al Chilala
(Zambian Fisheries), and John Lundberg (Academy of
Natural Sciences Philadelphia) travelled to Zambia to
collect fishes in Lake Tanganyika and the streams along
the eastern side of Lake Bangweulu in northern Zambia.
They stayed on Lake Tanganyika for 14 days, 11 of which
were in Mpulungu at the lake's southern tip and three
were spent around Nsumbu on the south-western side. All
of the lake collections were made using SCUBA and they
did both day and night collections.
