Closed-canopy rainforest and cloud forest in the area of the Sinharaja World Heritage Site and nearby Kanneliya Forest, southwestern Sri Lanka, 513-1270 m elevation.

Resembles Pseudophilautus pleurotaenia, Pseudophilautus asankai, and Pseudophilautus hoipolloi (and Philautus), according to the original publication.
