2010 Undergraduate Summer Research Opportunities in Earth and Planetary Sciences
A unique opportunity for undergraduates to work with the Department's scientists on their research.
Pre- and Post Doctoral Studies
EPS invites applications for Research Fellowships in residence for pre- and postdoctoral investigators and established scientists to carry out projects in collaboration with department staff.
Crystallographic investigations, including crystal structure analysis, are a fundamental aspect of the research interests of Dr. Harlow who maintains a facility for single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Products from high pressure experimentation are routinely examined, and structures have and continue to be refined and determined. A joint project of Drs. Leger and Harlow involves examining chlorine-rich amphiboles from the Black Rock Forest.
Dr. Harlow carried out some preliminary studies on micromineral crystallography at the National Synchrotron Light source at Brookhaven National Laboratories with colleagues from the University of Chicago and Manchester University.
