Technomyrmex (T.) sycorax Bolton
Type location Gabon (Bolton, 2007) from Monts Doudou,
collected by B L Fisher, 14-iii.2000
.
Bolton's (2007) description is at
.
He gives this as known only from three specimens from Gabon |
Technomyrmex species T²
Nigeria (Taylor, 1978) worker - TL 2.18 mm, HL 0.54, HW 0.47, SL
0.51, PW 0.33
Colour light yellow-brown, gaster darker, shiny. Erect hairs on
ventral side of gaster apex, on the clypeus and two on the
forecoxa. Moderately dense fine pubescence on the head and
alitrunk, coarse on the gaster. Eyes relatively large, breaking
the outline of the head in full face view. Propodeum rectangular
in profile, declivity flat and its face slightly convex.
In Nigeria it was found by me nesting in dead wood on
the tree and foraging on the lower parts of a cocoa tree.
As Technomyrmex species T² in Taylor (1981) but curiously neither listed nor apparently seen by Bolton (2007) despite it being deposited with him in a voucher set in 1976. |
