Type location Kenya (Technomyrmex albipes st foreli Emery, var affinis, nov., Santschi, 1914b: 119, worker; raised to variety of species foreli, Santschi, 1930a: 71, worker) worker only described

Santschi (1930a) added Guinea, Kakoulima, by F. Silvestri, as foreli, apparently mixed with T. moerens.

{Technomyrmex foreli}

Technomyrmex (Technomyrmex) foreli (Emery)

Holotype collected from Madagascar (Technomyrmex albipes ssp foreli, Emery, 1893f: 249, worker); raised to species, Santschi, 1930a: 71); all forms described (see Bolton, 1995).

Emery's (1893f) description is at {original description} Forel's (1910e) recorded albipes foreli from South Africa, with a brief description, this is at {original description} Arnold's (1915: 150) translation of Emery's original description is at {original description}.

Wheeler (1922) has numerous locations in Madagascar, Seychelles and southern Africa; Arnold (1915) noted - "common in moist places under stones, etc."

Santschi (1930a) added Guinea, Kakoulima, by F. Silvestri, apparently mixed with T. moerens.

Type location Angola (Santschi, 1930a: 71, illustrated, worker) collected at S. P. de Loanga, by F. Silvestri; worker only described (see Bolton, 1995).
