Type location Nigeria (Bolton, 1975a: 288, not illustrated); the holotype and one paratype worker were discovered by J.T. Medler at Ile-Ife (5.viii.1971, and 21.vii.1971) .

WORKER - the smallest member of the genus, TL 2.1 mm; dorsum of head finely and densely punctulate, pronotal dorsum unsculptured. Eyes minute. Colour yellow-brown.
