Wheeler (1922) has - originally taken by Dr. Bequaert at
Sankisia in Katanga, numerous workers taken by Lang at Banana, and
Bequaert at Pasaconde near Zambi "in galleries under ground
and in a fallen trunk of Hyphaene".
TL 4-5 mm; head deeply and broadly excavated behind and has
straight subparallel sides; the first funiculus joint distinctly
longer than broad, remaining joints, except the last, broader than
long. Petiole also broader than long. Whole body evenly and
sharply punctate, punctures on gaster somewhat smaller but very
distinct. Large workers rich ferruginous red, gaster somewhat
paler; smaller workers decidedly paler. |
