illustrated, worker) collected at Luki, by Wilwerth; worker only
described (see Bolton, 1995)

Note - with a fresh specimen from the Central African
Republic, I have raised the black subspecies fauconneti
from Zaïre (Forel, 1910e: 434, worker) collected at
Nyangwe to Stanleyville, by Fauconnet, to full species status Crematogaster
(Sphaerocrema) fauconneti, with a junior synonym confusa
(Santschi, 1911g: 208, worker) from Congo collected at
Gomba, by A. Weiss.

All are somewhat larger than given by Santschi (1910c) but having the
reduced sculpturation on the dorsum of the alitrunk and otherwise
fine sculpturation. |
