Crematogaster (Crematogaster) peringueyi Emery

return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server}Type location South Africa (Emery, 1895h: 27, illustrated, all forms); subspecies angustior (Arnold, 1920a: 510, illustrated, all forms) from South Africa, cacochyma (Forel, 1914d: 235, worker & queen) from South Africa, dentulata (Stitz, 1923: 156, worker) from South Africa, and gedeon (Forel, 1915c: 341, worker; Arnold, 1920a: 512) from South Africa; all forms described (see Bolton, 1995) .

Emery's (1895h) description is at {original description}. Forel's (1914d) description of cacochyma is at {original description}. Arnold (1920a: 509) gave an illustrated translation, this is at {original description}; his description of angustior is at {original description} and of other varieties at {original description}. Note - Arnold's statement fo the colour as "black" seems wrong - Emery wrote dark and the photograph of a cotype supports that. Overall it seems possible this is a simple junior synonym of gerstaeckeri. Stitz's description of dentulata is on {original description}.
