{Cardiocondyla wroughtonii} The photomontage is collated from http://www.antweb.org/specimen.do?name=casent0102969&shot=p1&project= Collection Information: Specimen Code CASENT0102969; Locality Kenya: Kajiado; Collection codes: ANTC5331 Date: Oct 1999; Collected by: J.Saiboku - indicated on Antweb as C. wroughtoni.

Bolton (1982: 317, illustrated), has other records from Tanzania and Somalia. Seifert (2003) reported measuring a worker specimen from Tanzania, Dar es Salaam, xii.1978 (presumably that reported by Bolton), Under C. obscurior, Seifert reported investigating a worker specimen from Kaijado, x.1999, Kenya; no collector was given. It seems highly unlikely that the collection was not the same as that from which the Antweb specimen came and, if so, Seifert's report seems erroneous. The Antweb specimen has the features, gaster colouration, etc., of wroughtoni. It also ties in with the other reports from East Africa.
