Boloponera Fisher, new genus

Diagnostic Features - Separable from Plectroctena by the mandibular structure - lacking a large semi-circular excavation of the clypeal margin and the longitudinal groove on the inner half of the dorsal surface of the mandible blade.

Genus description by Fisher (2006: 112) - monotypic, species Boloponera vicans Fisher.
