Some Example Documents

On this page I will try to put some example documents which can be used as templates for your own pages. I will try, where appropriate, to make both structured text and HTML versions of these templates. However, I'd like to restate something which I've been saying in the tutorials we've been holding: structured text is great for simple documents with simple flow but as soon as you try to put in formatting which is more complicated than just ''Heading, text, sub-heading, text, in-line image, table'' you need to resort to using HTML.

In what follows, I have tried to make two or three versions of the document: a viewable page, so you can see what the resultant page is supposed to look like, a source page from which you can simply cut and paste the HTML (or structured text) into your own document, and a comments page in which I provide some detail about what the source code (HTML or structured text) is trying to accomplish.

If you choose to copy the HTML code, be sure to set the Format of your document to HTML; otherwise, make sure the format is set to Structured Text.

Some documents in other formats, such as MS Word, can be exported into HTML: if the documents are simple enough the resultant HTML might work fine when the HTMLified document is uploaded into Plone.
