Up one level
Research Projects Star Formation and Feedback
Research into the formation of stars and the effect of star formation of the local environment. Hydrodynamical simulations of star formation.
Research Projects Stellar Populations and Evolution
A stellar atlas of the stars near to the Sun; stellar cluster evolution and the effects of dynamics on the cluster stellar population.
Research Projects The Lyot Project
The Lyot Project combines high-order adaptive optics and coronagraphy to search for planets around nearby stars.
Research Projects The Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS)
COSMOS is an Hubble Space Telescope Treasury Project using the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) to survey a 2 square degree field near the celestial equator. The goal of the project is to study the distribution of matter in the Universe on large scales to better understand what this tells us about the formation of galaxies, the distribution of dark matter, and the formation of active galactic nuclei (AGNs).
Research Projects Low Mass Stars and Brown Dwarfs
A far-reaching and comprehensive study of low-mass stars and brown dwarfs bringing together observational programs in visible, near infrared, and radio wavelengths. Spectroscopic and imaging programs, searches for sub-stellar companions, proper motion surveys, and space-based observations are all brought to bear on this intriguing class of objects.
