Department members have access to the world's finest astronomical resources.
The Department has access to the world's leading observatories, participates in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and SALT telescope consortium, has a unique instrumentation lab on site, and employs excellent computational resources to facilitate astrophysical research.

- Department members have on-site access to several computer clusters, GRAPE boards, and share time on the Nation's fastest scientific supercomputers.
- Instrumentation Lab
- The astrophysics lab builds instruments to image extrasolar planets.
